Paper Heart
Due Monday !0th at the beginning of class
Assignment:
Make a 3D sculpture that suggests an anatomical heart using the method of
casting paper and glue around a constructed form. The form will be removed and
the empty paper sculpture will be further manipulated and decorated to complete
the sculpture.
Details:
-The heart should be carefully considered. Using methods of
subtractive or additive to affect the surface and/or interior.
-The final sculpture should be In-The Round.
- You are invited to use the mediums of your choice but the
materials should be carefully considered.
- Think about how you want the sculpture displayed. Consider
whether it will be hung on a wall, from the ceiling or sit on a table. Have
these details worked out by the time of the due date.
Considerations:
- Consider the heart as a symbol. Is it your personal heart
or is it a universal symbol of a heart?
- Will you create duality with the Interior being opposite
of exterior?
- How do the materials that you add to the heart affect the
meaning of the sculpture.
