3D foundations/ Animal familiar –Assignment 2
Due: Due Monday July 17th

Assignment: Out of cardboard, and other found recycled materials, make a large form that can be worn on the body. This sculpture will be an animal form or combination of animals that have aspects of you or ones you would like to possess.

Details:
-The sculpture will be mainly constructed of cardboard, staples and hot glue. 

-Consider the environment. Use materials that are recycled and avoid purchasing toxic materials such as plastic, duct tape etc. In the end the work should be kept or dismantled with recycling as much as possible. The three Rs reduce/ Reuse/ Recycle http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0775891.html
Sources for recycled materials:
- Sharing Tree, a local organization the collects materials and resells them as art materials etc http://thesharingtreefl.pnmi.info
- Plastic and styro-foam recycling bins outside Publix
- Goodwill and other thrift stores.
- Duct tape and other adhesives that we already own.

Considerations
-What is your animal familiar? What animal connects you to what is wild? What elements does this animal embody that you possess or would like to possess. 

Some materials to consider:
Feathers, costume jewelry, fabric, natural things (leaves, flowers, palm fronds etc), recycled paint and tape from our homes and the art department….. you get it.

American Indian traditions of assuming animal power by wearing the skin or other aspects of the body.
